Blood Sucking Bed Bugs

One of the best known blood extracting insect bed bugs will come out when you are asleep, Although bed bugs can live for a year without feeding they normally try to feed every five to ten days. In cold weather, bed bugs can live for about a year; at temperatures more conducive to activity and feeding, about five months. It takes between five to ten minutes for a bed bug to become completely engorged with blood.
Fleas

The complete lifecycle takes about a month in the summer. Adult fleas feed on blood. Their bites can cause intense irritation around the central bright red spot. Different people react differently to a bite, both in terms of degree of reaction and time taken to react.
The Cat Flea is by far the commonest species of flea and readily bites humans. The Human Flea and the Bird Flea are next in importance. Dog fleas are rare, although other species may become temporarily attached to dogs.
Biting Flies

Biting Flies are painful, the bites of large specimens especially so. Most short tongued (short proboscid) species of Biting flies use their knife-like mandibles to rip and/or slice flesh apart. Flies with longer proboscides bite more like a mosquito, their stylet-like mouthparts piercing the host's skin like needles.
TicksÂ

Ticks satisfy all of their nutritional requirements on a diet of blood, a practice known as hematophagy. They extract the blood by cutting a hole in the host's epidermis, into which they insert their hypostome, likely keeping the blood from clotting by excreting an anticoagulant.
A disease which is passed on to humans by ticks is Lyme disease which is the most common tick-borne disease.
